As with all JSTOR participants, secondary schools have a participation fee structure that includes two fees: an Archive Capital Fee (ACF) and an Annual Access Fee (AAF).
There are three JSTOR secondary school classes: Schools I, Schools II, and Schools III. In order to determine the JSTOR classification for any secondary school, our primary indicator is a school's college-enrolling rate (the percentage of a school's most recent class of graduates matriculating to post-secondary education). This percentage rate may be obtained from the school's guidance office.
NOTE: We also invite secondary schools outside of the United States to become JSTOR participants. We are interested in learning more about the characteristics and needs in various international secondary school communities and encourage you to contact us at participation@jstor.org or via our online form.
The ACF for secondary schools is a one-time-only fee paid when the school begins participating in JSTOR. JSTOR sets the ACF for various communities in a way that stays consistent with the values of each community. By this method, every JSTOR participant makes an appropriate contribution to the core archival mission of JSTOR and is recognized as a valued member of this collaborative effort.

The AAF helps cover the recurring costs of updating the archive and maintaining access and support services for participating institutions. For secondary schools, the AAF varies according to a school's JSTOR classification. The AAF allows unlimited sitewide access to the archive for all authorized members of the school.
