The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) was founded in 1956 to foster cross-cultural understanding, scholarship, academic achievement, and societal development through the international study of educational ideas, systems, and practices. The Society's members include more than 1200 academics, practitioners, and students from around the world. JOURNALS INCLUDED IN JSTOR:Comparative Education ReviewJSTOR provides a digital archive of the print version of Comparative Education Review. The electronic version of Comparative Education Review (February 2002 - Present) is available at http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/CER/journal/ and contains elements not found in the print version. Authorized users may be able to access the full text articles at this site. Comparative Education Review, the journal of the Comparative and International Education Society, investigates education throughout the world and the social, economic, and political forces that shape it. Founded in 1957 to advance knowledge and teaching in comparative education studies, the Review has since established itself as the most reliable source for the analysis of the place of education in countries other than the United States.
