Updates in Collection Development

As of March 1, 2007, there are 685 journals in the JSTOR archive available to over 3,200 institutions worldwide. We are delighted to provide an update on JSTOR's latest collection offerings:

Arts & Sciences IV – Titles: 112 available

The Arts & Sciences IV Collection, completed in 2006, offers an extensive selection of titles in law, in addition to journals in the business, public policy, and psychology disciplines. Many education titles are also included, such as American Education Research Journal, The English Journal, International Review of Education, and the latest addition, TESOL Quarterly.

Arts & Sciences Complement – Titles: 179 signed; 98 available

Nearly one hundred archived titles are released in the Arts & Sciences Complement. Through this collection, we continue to develop our strengths in history, business, and economics, as well as an expanding selection of international titles, including the new additions Annales d'economie et de statistique and Historia: Zeitschrift Fur Alte Geschichte. Key journals in classical studies and art & art history are also included, notably, Daedalus, British Museum Quarterly, and Art Institute of Chicago Museum Studies.

Arts & Sciences V – Titles: 22 signed

It is our pleasure to announce JSTOR's newest collection, Arts & Sciences V. As with other Arts & Sciences collections, A&S V will expand our coverage in a number of disciplines, with the inclusion of literary reviews and historical society journals. Currently, 22 titles, including Victorian Studies, Hypatia, and The Hudson Review, have already agreed to participate. Further details of this collection will be formally announced in April 2007.

Biological Sciences – Titles: 121 signed; 73 available

Working closely with the Ecological Society of America and BioOne, we have expanded the Biological Sciences collection to offer over 121 journals in seven disciplines. In addition to the areas covered by the twenty-nine journals first introduced as part of our Ecology & Botany Collection, the Biological Sciences Collection has brought new disciplines to JSTOR such as zoology, aquatic sciences, and developmental & cell biology, including the highly cited titles BioScience, Oecologia, and Oikos. As we seek to expand the scope of our selection, we are delighted to include valuable society proceedings such as the Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, Transactions of the American Entomological Society, and the Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science.

Health & General Sciences – Titles: 20 signed; 12 available

JSTOR continues to build the Health & General Sciences Collection, and we are pleased to announce that the back issues of Science News and British Medical Journal will be included this autumn. Our focus on health sciences has expanded to include journals in disciplines such as epidemiology, including the European Journal of Epidemiology, Epidemiology, Journal of Medical Ethics, and the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.

Business II – Titles: 42 signed; 28 available

Support for JSTOR's second stand-alone collection in business has been strong. Thirteen new journals have been made available since we announced the collection. Highlights include Econometric Theory, NBER Macroeconomics Annual, Revue économique, , and the World Bank Economic Review. Through Business II, JSTOR is expanding our selection of titles focused on developing economies, including Eastern European Economics, Journal of Developing Areas, and Review of African Political Economy.
